There are a number of ways we research available noble titles, but the most important method is to search through the numerous detailed county records that have been maintained over the past thousand years or so. These historical works set out the history of land ownership and other rights (such as fishing, mineral or farming rights), by English county, usually by manor or parcel of land. In many cases the titles are still in use today, held by descendents of the original landowners or nobles. But there are a relatively small number of noble titles, such as Lord of the Manor or Baron that have lapsed for one reason or another. In all cases it is possible, by virtue of the law in England, to adopt both lapsed and extant titles.
Once you have given us the information we need about the location you're interested in, our highly experienced researchers will go back to these records to trace likely candidates for suitable titles. The titles will be tracked through the centuries to identify whether they are available. We will provide you with a brief synopsis of the history of the title, along with a fixed price. |
